Type locality: Port Lokko, Sierra Leone

Diagnosis

Male is similar to C. whellani by (a) green head and thorax; (b) Abd orange to red; (c) S10 without apical processes; (d) penis with rounded apex and rounded lateral lobes; (e) paraprocts with distinct angular heel. However, differs by (1) labrum green to blue, rather than yellow; (2) wings usually clear, rather than being washed yellow; (3) penis with large rather than small lateral lobes; (4) cerci broad, rather than narrow, with small internal black tooth at about midlength; (5) paraprocts reach well beyond tips of cerci. Habitat description

Mostly standing waters, but also rivers and possibly flowing channels in marshes, in open areas in forest, but sometimes shaded by gallery forest. Usually with emergent and often aquatic vegetation. From 0 to 1900 m above sea level, but mostly between 200 and 1500.
