Type locality: Kintele, Congo
Diagnosis
Male is similar to P. thenartum by (a) slender forest species, ranging from DRC to W; (b) antehumeral stripe at least as broad as half-width of mesepisternum, constricted or broken near dorsal end; (c) at least tibiae and often femora largely pale; (d) cerci not branched in lateral view. However, differs by (1) smaller size, Hw 16-18 mm; (2) thorax, including antehumeral stripe, and postocular spots blue, rather thab orange; (3) Pt black rather than yellow; (4) cerci awl-shaped rather than club-shaped, with pointed apices. Habitat description
Streams, but possibly also rivers, in open areas in forest. Mostly with a sandy bottom, often blackwater and probably emergent vegetation and/or submerged roots. Inferred to occur from 100 to 600 m above sea level.
