Type locality: Lindi, Tanganyika, Tanzania

Diagnosis

Male is similar to P. isidromorai and P. glaucoideum by (a) size, Hw 19-23 mm; (b) face green or blue, sometimes yellowish; (c) dorsum of S2 with double-pronged marking, like U or Y, or largely black, usually with blue centre; (d) S8-9 seldom with narrowly black apical border, often all blue; (e) upper branch of cerci hooked, but inner border of lower branch smooth- lower branch of cerci long, finger-like; (f) paraprocts never with dorsal knob (lateral view). However, differs by (1) ranging from Somalia to Mozambique, rather than west Africa; (2) apex of penis rounded, rather than weakly to strongly concave. Habitat description

Standing and often temporary waters, as well as rivers, in open landscapes. Often with emergent vegetation. From 0 to 1000 m above sea level, but mostly near sea level.
