Type locality: Kapanga, DRC

Diagnosis

 

Has been recorded from western Kenya to DR Congo but may be synonymous with M. nyassicus: the inner branch of the cerci is supposedly thinner than the outer branch in dorsal view, extending just beyond it in lateral view, while the cleft of the epiproct is rather narrow in ventral view. Habitat description

Streams, but possibly also rivers, shaded by forest. Probably often with coarse detritus. Inferred to occur from 500 to 1100 m above sea level.
