Green-banded Sparklewing

Type locality: Usambara Mts, Tanzania

Diagnosis

Similar to other Umma species by (a) labium all black in stead of pale; (b) humeral and interpleural sutures enclosed in metallic areas, at most with pale traces; (c) wings clear; (d) Fw discoidal field 1 row only well proximal to node, 15-25 cells wide on wing border; (e) base of anal vein directed towards wing base. However, differs by (1) distributed from NE Tanzania to N Mozambique; (2) head, mesepisternum, metepisternum and Abd black, contrasting with metallic green mesepimeron and metepimeron; (3) Pt is absent. Habitat description

Streams shaded by forest, but possibly also in open areas. Usually with coarse detritus, often a gravelly and/or sandy bottom, and probably submerged roots. Inferred to occur from 200 to 1800 m above sea level.
